ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CMP Channel's CRN has
named Kevin Gilroy, president of Arrow Electronics, Inc.'s Enterprise
Computing Solutions (ECS) business unit as one of the "2007 Top 25 Most
Innovative Channel Executives."
The magazine, which covers the information technology distribution
industry, issues its annual top-25 list recognizing suppliers, solution
providers and distributors that are reshaping the supply chain and are
positively impacting the direction of the channel.
"With so many top performers in the channel, I am honored to receive this
recognition," said Gilroy. "The industry has changed dramatically in the 30
years that I've been in the channel. The executives who I believe we should
watch are those who are making adjustments now to be successful in the channel
tomorrow.
"I congratulate all of the executives who were recognized by CRN this
year."
Gilroy, who is also senior vice president of Arrow Electronics, Inc.,
(NYSE: ARW), oversees all external activities for the ECS business, including
sales, marketing and interfacing with customers, vendors and resellers. He is
also responsible for the strategy, performance and people development for
Arrow ECS.
"Kevin joined Arrow in January and has brought visionary leadership to our
ECS business," said William E. Mitchell, chairman, president and chief
executive officer (CEO) of Arrow. "On behalf of all of Kevin's colleagues at
Arrow, I congratulate him on this outstanding achievement."
Under Gilroy's direction, Arrow ECS is embracing its role in connecting
solutions to end users through its suppliers and resellers. The business has
expanded its offerings in storage, software and services to better enable its
partners to pursue these high-growth sectors and, drawing on his experience
leading Hewlett-Packard's Small and Medium Business (SMB) practice, Gilroy is
creating a robust midmarket program that will complement Arrow ECS'
established enterprise business.
Prior to joining Arrow, Gilroy served as CEO of OnForce, Inc., an online
marketplace for on-site technology services. He previously spent 24 years
shaping and managing HP's commercial channel organization. He served as
senior vice president and general manager of HP's worldwide SMB segment; vice
president of the Solution Partners Organization in the Americas; and vice
president and general manager of North American channel.
Gilroy began his career as a financial analyst for HP and later served as
a district sales manager, operations manager and channel representative. He
was named the Channel Executive of the Year in 2003 by VARbusiness.
"Kevin has had a key role in shaping and leading the channel for the past
30 years, and he is now bringing that energy and experience to distribution,"
said Robert C. DeMarzo, vice president and editorial director, CMP Channel.
